Flights to San Antonio take you to a major Texan metropolis. Beautiful parkland and unique low-level river trails are amongst the splendor that awaits you in this fabulous city.
San Antonio flights touch down at the International Airport, just 8 miles from the lively downtown area of the city. The airport is serviced by over 20 airlines, and has 2 huge terminals, with plans to expand further. A great venue to eat and drink is Alamo City Microbrewery & Grill in Terminal A on the South Concourse; their fresh omeletts are something else. Next to the baggage claim area are shuttle buses and public transport buses, both with low cost fares. San Antonio flights also fly into Stinson Municipal, which is a second airport 6 miles from the centre. This is a reliever facility with just 2 runways, but it is home to the Texas Air Museum.
Flights to San Antonio need to be carefully thought through with regard to clothing, because although the city receives in excess of 300 days sunshine each year, it can be quite rainy in both the spring and fall. Summers can get very humid, while the winters are mild, plus they can be less crowded. Temperatures tend to be around the mid 90's in Fahrenheit June to August, dropping slightly in the months just before and after. There isn't a bad time to take your San Antonio flights, so if you the opportunity to purchase a bargain air ticket, take it.
Anybody arriving into the city will be pleasantly surprised at the many transport opportunities. The mass transit bus system has hundreds of routes that will drop you more or less anywhere you need. There are open-air streetcars that provide a bit of nostalgic travel. Or for a really novel way around hop on a cheap river taxi, you will spot them with the black and yellow checkered flag. Like many big cities, San Antonio has its own sightseeing buses. The number 7 drops off and picks up from most major attractions. Another splendid way of seeing San Antonio at your own pace is by taking one of the many bicycle trails that zigzag through the city.
The Alamo City, as it is affectionately known in reference to the Davy Crockett mission, has some terrific attractions. Many grab flights to San Antonio for the vibrant nightlife, which has no shortage of wine and tequila bars, music venues, and dance clubs. Some other San Antonio attractions include:
