If you're looking for fares on flights to Panama City, Florida, that don't break the budget, let Orbitz.com help. You'll want to save as much money as possible to enjoy this beautiful city, which borders the Gulf of Mexico and St. Andrew's Bay. The shores of Panama City Beach and amazing watersports are just two reasons to come here.
You will fly into Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. This newly built airport is located 20 miles northwest of the center of town. It is a relocation of the Panama City-Bay County International Airport. This has the distinction of being the first American-built and American-designed airport erected since the 9/11 attacks. Delta, Delta Connection and Southwest provide service into and out of Atlanta, Baltimore, Houston and Nashville. Service to Orlando is being phased out. There are also many taxi services located outside the terminal. Bay Taxi & Limo and Lemon Taxi & Shuttle are two popular ones. Expect to pay at least $40 from the airport to the city center. The trip will take about 20 minutes.
One of the most popular attractions in Panama City is the Panama City Beach Winery. The tour of the winery, the top-shelf wine tastings and friendly staff give this attraction a five-star rating from nearly everyone who visits. Another jewel in the area's crown is Panama City Beach. It is simply beautiful, with sugary, white sand and azure water. The vibe is laid-back, and everyone is made to feel welcome. Winters in Panama City are usually dry and mild, with temperatures in the low 60s. Summers are usually hot and humid, with temperatures in the low 90s.
If you book your flights to Panama City through Orbitz.com, you will likely find cheap and affordable fares that let keep your budget on track.
Panama occupies a thin strip of land bridging the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea. Panama City sits near the very center of the country, on the Pacific coast, along the Gulf of Panama. The city itself has a tropical wet climate, with annual wet and dry seasons. On the whole, Panama City sees an average of 75 inches of rain each year, with about 20 of those inches falling in October alone, during the height of the wet season. The dampest period spans from May to November, while the dry season falls between January and April.
The dry season also coincides with Panama's high tourist season. The weather in Panama City is generally pleasant, with little rain, from mid-December to mid-April, but hotel prices and airfares are highest during this time, too.
Prices and crowds really top out, however, during Panama City's Carnival—one of the biggest throw-downs in the world. It's celebrated during the four days leading up to Ash Wednesday, which typically falls in February or March. The raucous celebration is worth a visit if you’re game for partying, but be sure to book your accommodations far in advance, as they fill up fast.
Average temperatures fluctuate little throughout the year. In January, for instance, average temperatures flow between 65 and 92. In July, averages range from 70 to 93.
